Filled High-Quality Duffel Bags For Foster Children

Shane Uribe spent his early years in several foster homes. He carried all of his belongings from place to place in a black trash bag.

Not wanting others to endure that same fate, he planned a duffel-bag drive. Shane and his helpers filled 100 high-quality duffel bags with blankets, flashlights and stuffed animals.

His project was such a success that San Diego County decided to make it a permanent program. Now many more than 100 children will benefit from Shane’s project.

  1. These Eagle Scout projects are all amazing and inspiring!! Great Work!! Shane Uribe’s is especially wonderful because he makes foster children who are likely scared, much more comfortable by providing a flashlight, blanket and teddy bear. Fabulous work by all of the Eagle Scouts represented here and even the ones who are not.
