Created a Native Plant Garden to Fight Coastal Erosion

Jacob and his helpers created a native plant garden along the Indian River lagoon at the Marine Discovery Center. Coastal erosion is a serious problem along our waters. Native plants help strengthen the ground to help prevent erosion. The project not only creates and restores the natural habitat for several native species, but the garden also serves to stabilize the soil and educate coastal homeowners of the types of plants to grow to fight coastal erosion.
