Solar Ovens for Haiti

Russell and his helpers built 34 solar ovens that are easy to pack away and store. They are made from an MPET reflective material and a poly-carbonate cover.

The ovens were shipped to Florida where they were shipped on to Chantal, Haiti. Families in need can safely and easily use the ovens to cook their own food using the sun at no cost. The ovens also help prevent possible health problems due to the use of charcoal inside of houses.

Russell and some family and friends also took a trip to Haiti with the We Care to Share mission group where they taught how to build, assemble and use the solar cookers. A team of Haitians volunteered to learn and continue training other Haitians in the use and assembly of the cookers.
