Converted Closet Into an Office

Over five months, Angus and his helpers transformed a cluttered 8×10-foot storage closet at American Legion Post 859 into a functional office for servicemen. This project held special significance for Angus, as both his grandfather and great uncle are Vietnam veterans, and he is a member of the Sons of the American Legion.

Angus successfully raised nearly $1,500 in donations to support the renovation. The project involved replacing the flooring, painting the ceiling and walls, and installing a ceiling fan, crown molding, new shelving and a door.

The new office will provide veterans with a more effective workspace. American Legion members can now meet in small groups, discuss confidential information, and train veterans on the latest computer technology. With the clutter cleared and the space reorganized, records will be more secure yet easily accessible.
