Food and Fund Drive for Food Bank

As the COVID-19 pandemic quickly spread, I noticed the increased and steady lines at food banks across the nation. I realized that the pandemic would cause significant financial hardship and food insecurity for many families in Georgia and wanted to find a solution to help the community. I contacted the Atlanta Community Food Bank (ACFB) and decided to do a food and fund drive for my Eagle Scout Service Project.

Over two months, me and my Troop 713 collected 6,091 items, which I delivered to ACFB in 82 boxes that weighed 4,872 pounds! These 6,091 items will provide 4,060 meals for families in our communities. Between the cash donations of $1,280 received during the food drives and the online donations of $2,375, the total donations of $3,655 can be used by ACFB to provide 14,620 meals for Georgia families in need.
