Alyssa and her helpers created two murals out of recycled, single-use plastics to encourage elementary students to take a creative look at recycling and repurposing while instilling the mindset of “we are the change that we want to see in the world.” The murals consisted of 3,000 to 6,000 bottle caps and marine rope collected from a local island. The showcase allowed students to make their own recycled art.
