Crafted Greeting Cards for Veterans

Michaela and her helpers crafted greeting cards for veterans and active-duty military members. They prepared 5,000 cards for active-duty service members to send to their loved ones while stationed overseas. For veterans, they delivered greeting cards to a veterans hospital, enabling them to stay connected with their families.

At the time Michaela started her project, her brother was serving in the military. Initially, she focused on active-duty members, but when her brother was medically discharged, she decided to extend her efforts to support veterans as well. Inspired by the universal appeal of greeting cards, she felt this project would offer meaningful support to those who serve.

Through her project, Michaela distributed 1,500 cards to active military personnel, 1,200 cards to veteran care homes, and 2,300 cards to the American Legion and VFW. Those two organizations sold the cards to help sustain their operations during the pandemic.
