Julia and her helpers revitalized the military memorial in Apopka Cemetery by transforming the landscaping and creating a flagpole plaza, featuring flags for each branch of the military, as well as flags for the state and country.
Inspired by her cousin, who is actively serving in the U.S. Army, and her grandfather, a Vietnam War veteran, Julia undertook this project to honor their service and recognize all those who have served in her community.
This newly renovated memorial now serves as a venue for city ceremonies, including Veterans Day and Labor Day. The improved space provides a more fitting tribute to veterans and active service members, offering the community a meaningful place to honor their sacrifices for the country.
