Jonathan and his helpers made a very deep firepit for the local VFW Post. The post wanted something they could use as a warming pit and also to cook large cuts of meat.
Twice a year (Memorial Day and Veteran’s Day), Jonathan’s troop will use it to retire flags. They used to use a rusty barrel to retire flags, but both the VFW and his troop agree that this new firepit is much more honorable for flag retirement.

Congratulations Jonathan! My oldest boy built an awesome fire pit for our VFW Post, Indian Trail, NC. They use it only for flag retirement. It’s surrounded by a memorial wall.
We are looking to do something similar. What is a conservative amout we should budget for?
