Created a Cemetery Scatter Garden

Trevor and his helpers completed a 907-hour service project that created the first legal, public and easily accessible cremation scattering site in the state of Texas. The project, valued at over $50,000, features five major components: a 25-foot flagpole, two limestone benches, a 945-square-foot concrete walkway, a memorial wall for remembrance tags and a central scatter bed surrounded by a rock garden.

Designed to serve individuals from all walks of life, the site offers a respectful and affordable option for cremated remains to be scattered, along with the opportunity to purchase personalized tags in memory of loved ones. The project also provides local funeral homes with a dignified location to scatter the ashes of unclaimed individuals.

Trevor’s project took 15 months of planning, fundraising, and construction. Built with high-quality materials and professional input, the site is expected to require no major maintenance for at least 20 years. Trevor’s project beneficiary was the city of Georgetown’s Parks and Recreation Department.
