Renovation of Homeless Women’s Shelter

Vivian and her helpers restored two rooms at Clare’s House, a homeless women’s shelter that lacked the funds to make necessary repairs. With just 11 days from the approval of her project to the scheduled completion date, Vivian mobilized her troop members to help transform the rooms. Their efforts included painting the walls and furniture, providing new bedding, installing a much-needed room divider, and supplying essential items like towels and toilet paper for the residents.

Additionally, Vivian collaborated with her aunt to crochet blankets for the four tenants, as well as making hats and scarves for the winter. She also organized a dinner for all the shelter’s residents, with her troop preparing and serving beef enchiladas, vegetarian enchiladas for a resident with dietary restrictions, salad, bread, and cake. The entire project was completed over one weekend, and Vivian was able to donate over $500 to Clare’s House, which helped cover some of the shelter’s bills.
